Getting a Mold Related Services License in Florida

Demonstrate proof of completion of a Department-approved course covering state requirements, workers’ compensation requirements, industry standards of practice, and safety.

Successfully pass a State of Florida department-approved exam for mold-related services Remediator or Assessor. (Exam fee applies).

We recommend the ACICP for state-approved examinations, but check for the list of approved exams.

Mold Remediator – Attest you have commercial $1 Million General Liability Insurance

Mold Assessor – Attest you have $1 Million General Liability and $1 Million Errors and Omissions Insurance

Submit Fingerprints and have a background check performed (fee NOT included in course tuition) Go to to schedule your Fingerprint Appointment.

Submit a written application and pay the required application fee. (Fee NOT included in course tuition).


Written application Education/Experience Requirements:

A copy of a transcript is required demonstrating an Associate of Arts degree or higher in microbiology, engineering, architecture, industrial hygiene or occupational safety or related field of science from an accredited institution. The applicant must also demonstrate a minimum of 1 year of documented field experience in a field related to mold remediation;
